Slow Program? Nope. Declared Toleration!

Over the past few weeks, our QuickBooks program started to launch more slowly. It was barely noticeable at first, but it kept getting slower and slower.

The other day, it took over three minutes to load. I had adjusted to it by checking email, looking at Facebook, etc. while waiting for it load. But a couple of days ago, I said, “Enough!“ This slow loading application had become a Toleration. And since I wrote the book on identifying and terminating Tolerations, I had to walk my talk.

It took only 10 or 15 minutes to uninstall QuickBooks and reinstall it. And now it pops right up when I launch it. No more waiting, no more irritation, no more frustration.

It’s like that with so many Tolerations. They’re barely noticeable at first, but they become Tolerations all too quickly.

I’m better at identifying and eliminating them than I used to be, but like weeds they can easily and quietly take over the garden. In this case, our lives.

The aggregate of these Tolerations sap our focus, our productivity and our joy.

What are you tolerating right now? What can you identify and exterminate that bugs you? I urge you to be constantly on the alert for the niggly, frown-causing, irritating things you might be tolerating. Notice ’em. Squash ’em. And watch your life get better and better.

When The Secret to Being Fiercely Focused debuted in March of 2019, it quickly reached number one in Happiness, Two-Hour Short Reads and Personal Transformation categories on Amazon.

If you want to have more energy, less stress and get more done, then becoming a master at tackling your Tolerations will create the lever you need for change.

It’s available in paperback and Kindle.
