Frank Sinatra’s “I Did it My Way” is a great song about going it alone.
But unfortunately that’s not a very good life strategy. I’m all for being your own person and I’m a great fan of individuality and uniqueness. But when it comes to achieving your goals, when it comes to designing, creating and living your BEST life, trying to go it alone can be your biggest stumbling block.
As I look back over my career, I can accurately point to the times when I was trying to do it all on my own and also when I had help and guidance. When I was in a Mastermind, had a coach or was part of a proven program, I was winning. When I wasn’t doing that, I stood still or drifted backward. It’s that apparent.
It just doesn’t make any sense to try and be a pioneer on things that have already been conquered. There’s no need to re-invent the wheel. And it’s just not smart to ignore the help, information and roadmaps that are available.
Successful companies and successful people have boards of directors and masterminds. They avail themselves of professional, trusted advice. And they follow time-tested, proven, best practices.
You may think that you can’t afford a personal coach. But you might want to ask yourself if you can afford NOT to have one. If you think you want to have a coach, you should find a good one.
When you know where to turn for help, when you know the right tool to use, when you have others to lean on, you can make MUCH faster and easier progress. And when you do, you’ll wonder why you ever tried to do it all by yourself.
I encourage you to stay with SuccessNet and avail yourself of the encapsulated wisdom and proven principles we share to create your best life.
