There’s an old Vermont story about a tourist driving through the countryside who found himself on the wrong road. He stopped at the next town and called one of the locals over to his car window. “Can you help me. I’m lost,” he said.
The Vermonter looked at him for a moment and asked. “Do you know where you are?” “Yes,” said the tourist. “I saw the name of the town as I drove in and I can see it here on the map.”
The man nodded and then asked, “Do you know where you want to be?”
“Yes,” the tourist replied, and told him his destination. The villager looked off in the distance for a bit and then said, “You’re not lost, you just need directions.”
Most of us can relate to this experience. And it’s easy to see the wisdom and the distinction that the story illustrates. We’re seldom lost, but we often need directions.

Here’s what Tracy of Florida recently had to say: “I’m writing to say that the ’Rule of Three’ in Success Strategies really helped me out. I have a few too many things I’m trying to do and it helped me decide to focus on the 3 most important things first, instead of trying to list everything I want to get done and becoming overwhelmed and discouraged!”
And Mal from California: “I love the material you send out! It always seems to appear at just the time I need it. No matter how successful we might be, we all need help to stay on track and motivated to do our best. Your support helps me to do that and allows me to better support my clients. Thank you, and keep up the good work!”
It’s these kind of comments from our readers (and there are many) that make all we do worthwhile.
