The Crystal Cathedral: In Need of Ideas
On October 18, 2010, The Crystal Cathedral filed for bankruptcy protection. The church’s board of directors sited a substantial drop
in revenue over the past few years and an inability to cut costs quickly enough.

Differences within the family following founder Robert H. Schuller’s retirement in 2006 have also been reported.

One of the best things I ever heard Dr. Schuller say was, "You never suffer from a money problem; you always suffer from an idea problem."

He asserted that you can always overcome an apparent shortage of money by generating ideas that will bring in money.

He ought to know.

Our Attachments Create Our Unhappiness

We got quite a few responses to last week’s article, “Intentions Without Attachments.”

Most agreed with my premise, but a few were doubtful. One even stated emphatically that it would not work.

I’m guessing that most of them did not quite get my point.

I certainly don’t think you should be mamby pamby about your goals. And I don’t advocate simply giving up just because the going gets tough.
