Are You Half Way Through Your 2013 Launch Sequence?

Set your top goalsWe’re half way through the first half of the first month of 2013. So how are you doing?

Have you decided on your top three goals for the year? Are they clear and specific? Measurable and actionable? Relevant and time-bound?

How are you coming on your plan of action for each of your top goals and projects? Have you identified possible challenges that might get in the way of your success? Do you have a Plan B? Because without a Plan B, you don’t really have a plan.

I hope the New Year has started well for you. And if it hasn’t, that you start anew—today.

Something has shifted for me this year. Last January I was dealing with the recent death of my mother and I must admit, it did take some wind from beneath my wings. And although I still miss her a lot, I’m starting the New Year with a new theme and renewed energy and excitement.

My theme is “lean and green in 2013”. I’ve never been more committed to losing weight and getting fit. The “green” part of the theme is about earning more money. And I know that in order for me to do that, I need to increase the value I create in the marketplace. And I’m open to do that in a big way this year.

Previous Januarys have provided some early success in weight loss, but I didn’t always practice the second and thirds Cs of my 3C Formula (from my newest book, The Achievement Code). I was clear (the first C), but I wasn’t always Concentrated (focused) or Consistent. I’ll be the first to admit that this stuff is easier to teach than it is to practice. But it is simple—and it DOES work.

I gave myself a kick-start by abstaining from wine for the month of January, and I’m recording all calories consumed and burned through exercise. The free app, LoseIt, available for smart phones and the web, have helped a lot.

It’s been surprising how quickly I’ve lost 12 pounds (in just two weeks) and how easy it’s been to stick to my plan.

It all has to do with commitment.

And that commitment has produced results which makes it even easier to do what I intend—because I’m seeing the results and I’m winning.

This is what W. H. Murray, who headed up the The Scottish Himalaya Expedition, had to say about commitment:

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.”

What’s your commitment? It’s great to have resolutions and set goals, but which ones are you absolutely committed to achieving?

Goal PlannerOur SuccessNet Goal Planner is a great tool for helping you get clear on your goals, develop plans and to execute those plans. It simply works—and works well.

And if you really want to guarantee your success, I still have one opening for a one-on-one coaching client. Just fill out the form on this page to set up a time for us to chat.

If that’s too much of a commitment for you, you still have a few more days to enroll in Diamond Club where you can have your very own MasterMind Team to support you in making 2013 your best year yet.

PS: If I’m not 30 pounds lighter than I am today by July 4th of 2013, I encourage you to embarrass, harass, ridicule and berate me for being a fake.
